The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.
Applications are now open and can shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to meet the subsequent requirements:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house which has a combined gross house earnings that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic revenue would not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and nsfas status check wish not submit any evidence of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded to offer the right Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are researching or plan to research at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
